Danny Sacks

Career

What I've owned.

A decade of B2B and consumer products, moving from customer-facing roles into product ownership. I like the hard middle of a product: the requirements, the edge cases, and what it feels like to use something for the first time.

How I work

  1. Information hierarchy is the product.

On a screen where people handle money or data, what you show first, what you hide, and what you make them confirm decides whether they trust it. I spend more time on that ordering than on any single feature.

  2. The unit of work is a requirement engineers can build against.

I write them down, with the edge cases and the failure states, and I'd rather cut scope than leave a step ambiguous.

  3. Data models are product decisions.

The questions a product can answer are set by how it stores events. I've designed those models at Scuba, Twitter and CoinFLEX, and it's the first thing I ask about on a new team.

Selected work

Synthetix

Senior Product Manager

July 2024 to September 2026

Synthetix built a new trading exchange from scratch, with engineering in Sydney and me as the product owner in Los Angeles.

Synthetix Exchange trading screen: price chart, order book, recent trades and an order form.
The exchange as it ships today.

I owned the requirements for every user-facing feature, from onboarding through order placement to account history. Among the pieces I shipped: a referral program, a data archive so users could pull their full history, and the analytics data model the team used to understand behavior. I also wrote the public post laying out the thesis for the pivot.

In late 2024 and early 2025 I led product and team integration for two acquisitions, a trading front end and a platform of leveraged products with more than 50 offerings, publicly announced at roughly $13 million and $4 million.

Earlier, I served an elected one-year term on the protocol's governance council, evaluating and voting on formal change proposals for a network valued above $1 billion.

Scuba Analytics

Senior Solutions Architect

2023 to 2024

Scuba is a behavioral analytics platform, the company formerly known as Interana.

Scuba Explore view: a query definition on the left and two flow diagrams of retained and churned teams by event path.
Explore, the query view the demo flow was built around.

I built the demo flow the sales team ran, and acted as the trusted technical advisor from first call through signature and the handoff into implementation. For each prospect I designed the event data model that would let them answer the questions they actually cared about, which is the part of an analytics sale that decides whether the customer renews.

Twitter

Product Manager

March 2020 to April 2022

I joined through Twitter's acquisition of Interana and moved into product.

I led an internal behavioral analytics tool that let teams import and analyze event data without writing code; it grew to 150 weekly active users. I designed and managed Custom Apps, which let teams build their own experiences and workflows, raising usage by 30%. I also owned the customer experience for three analytics products (Looker, Amplitude and Interana), from support and documentation to video training, taking adoption from 0 to 200 weekly active users.

Earlier

At CoinFLEX US (Head of Operations, 2022) I redesigned the web app and landing pages to lift click-through, designed the event data model for cohort and funnel analysis, and moved a team across four offices and 15 hours of time zones onto one scrum process. At Interana (2016 to 2020) I led customer success, then moved to solutions engineering as the primary technical advisor to sales and customers, teaching sessions for groups of one to 120 people.
